The tournament will take place in Geneva, Switzerland over the weekend of the 28th & 29th May and will see the England Mencap squad take on teams from across Europe to lift the trophy on the Sunday evening.

This is a great achievement for each of the players, all of whom regularly represent their clubs in the West Riding Ability Counts League, an ability banded pan-disability football competition run by West Riding County Football Association.

Mark Summers, Chairman of the West Riding Ability Counts League and Mencap National Football Team Manager commented “To have six players selected from the region says a great deal about the standard of football in the West Riding Ability Counts League. It is a fantastic achievement for the players and I know that they will all make the very most of the fantastic opportunity that has been presented to them”.

James Doyle, Disability Football Development Officer for the West Riding County FA echoed these sentiments highlighting "This is the sixth year the county has had representation in this national squad, it is always pleasing to see player progressing and getting the recognition both they and their clubs deserve. We have a great network of clubs who disability football opportunities across the county and it would be great to have more players from these clubs represented next year"
