Improvements made to renamed spectator stand at Fleet Lane
All at West Riding County Football Association are thrilled to announce recent developments regarding the improvements and naming of the spectator stand at our headquarters.
The stand has been renamed the Reg Allwood Stand in tribute to our friend and former Director – a remarkable individual, widely respected and admired across the grassroots football community.
The renaming of the stand in honour of Reg recognises his exceptional dedication to grassroots football and reflects the association's deep appreciation for his outstanding contributions.
In addition to the name change, we’ve introduced significant improvements, including new pitch-side viewing areas with two sections of safe, covered standing. These upgrades are designed to enhance the matchday experience for fans, players, and visitors to West Riding FA.
The dedication to Reg Allwood’s memory has already drawn heartfelt praise from the local football community. Former friends, colleagues, players, and supporters have all shared moving tributes, remembering his tireless efforts to serve and improve the game.
For many, the Reg Allwood Stand symbolises more than just a physical structure. It represents a lasting connection to the values of kindness, teamwork, and a passion for the sport that Reg embodied throughout his life.
There will be an official naming and opening event organised in the coming weeks, of which further details will follow.
